The joys of being Irish

In high spirits with Glyn

Ron- 57th Birthday

Spontaneous dance with me!

Entertaining the patrons at Saison with his Irish talk and jig

No less than three sets of headphones! Happy as a clam!

For those of you who don't know us, Ron, remarkably, qualified to become Irish through my mum. This has always been a source of much amusement to him. Lately he's taken to gabbering away in "Irish" and, much to everyone's delight, sometimes breaks into a spontaneous jig. With it being his birthday yesterday ( though of course he has no understanding of the concept) he was aware it was a celebratory time- so entertained us in this way. It was particularly hilarious when Matty phoned to wish his dad well, and Ron kept alternating between talking Irish (which is totally non-sensical) and then hearing Josh Groban singing, so breaking into song while on the phone. I was not the only one crying with laughter! Poor Matt on the other end of the line was totally confounded!

It is such a joy to have these happy moments- the dark shadow of depression is still very evident, hopefully the new meds will kick in sometime soon. I still wait for the phone call regarding placement - so torn about that and try to put it from my mind. So many times during this journey I have wanted to push a pause button and keep things as they are.

  1. How wonderful for you to have these happy moments Annie! Like lovely pebbles to take out of your pocket from time to time and polish with poignance. xx
