What a gift we received on Christmas day! In the early hours of the morning our little granddaughter was born - Keighley ( pronounced Kee-Leigh) 6 pounds 15 oz. She came very quickly and was born at home. She and Cammy are doing very well, busy settling into the how to's of breastfeeding, and James has ably taken over with all the nappy changing. It is such a delight to have a newborn in the family, and the most amazing experience to be grandparents.
On Christmas morning, we were able to visit when she was only a few hours old. It was a very emotional time for all of us, the profound joy was tempered with a deep sadness, as that day, Ron had no clue at all of the significance of the event, and indeed barely noticed her, concentrating only on me when we placed her in his arms. Today he saw her for a second time and was more animated and did smile at her, which was a very special moment for Cammy.
This is so wonderful, the fact that she had her picture taken with her grandfather will be very meaningful to her when she is older.
ReplyDelete"For Unto Us a Child is Born," is the song I sang right after I had Rachel.
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteJoe and I were so delighted to hear the wonderful news of you becoming Grandparents with the arrival of Cammy & Jame's "Christmas Bundle of Joy".... Keighley! what a beautiful name! I have enjoyed looking through your photos and getting updated as I have not been on your Blog for a while. I feel the frustrations that you and your family are going through Anne and I am deeply humbled by your sincerity shown. It must be so frustrating for everyone. I sit here in sunny southern Arizona enjoying our winter months from afar but my heart is, and always will be, forever there in the Cowichan Valley! Enjoy the endless times ahead of witnessing your new Grandaughter go through life changing moments...Sending love from Arizona to all of you!
